Sprouts are instant & nutritious breakfast option. Sprouts are very low in calories, full of proteins antioxidants, vitamins and minerals.
That’s why people recognize sprouts as the ideal healthy breakfast meal.
The right way to sprout
The process of sprouting involves germinating seeds and legumes. Additionally, you have the option to sprout a variety of beans, pulses, and grains, including black beans, buckwheat, moong beans, lentils, soybeans, millet, barley, quinoa, and chickpeas. They all are very healthy & good in taste.
What You Can Sprout:
- Lentils: Brown, green, or red lentils sprout quickly and are rich in protein and fiber.
- Beans: Mung beans and chickpeas are easy to sprout and add a crunchy texture and mild flavor to your meals.
- Grains: Quinoa, barley, and wheat berries can also be sprouted, giving your dishes a unique texture and extra nutrients.
How to Sprout:
Rinse the Seeds: Wash your lentils, beans, or grains in cool water to remove any dirt.
Pour with Water: After rinsing place them in a large bowl filled with water. Make sure the water is double the amount of grains as these will absorb some of the water while sprouting. Ensure that you cover the mouth of the container with a cloth and secure it tightly with a support.
Soak Overnight: Keep the container at room temperature for 3-12 hours depending on the type of grain. For the best sprouting, soak Black whole gram and Green whole moong overnight.
Drain and Rinse: Drain the water out through the cloth. After completing the rinsing process, run fresh water through the lid and shake it to thoroughly rinse the sprouts.
Sprouting Time: Place the container in a warm location until the sprouting process begins. Rinse them in every 5-6 hours. In 1-2 days, you will see small sprouts.
Rinse & Enjoy: Once the sprouts are ready, rinse them one last time, and enjoy them with various varieties.
How to consume Sprouts:
1)Raw Sprouts-Just wash or blanch it from hot water add salt, lime juice & black pepper.
2) Roasted Sprouts– Heat a spoon of Ghee in a pan, add sprouts, paneer( to make it more protein rich diet).Stir it with salt, black pepper & lime juice.
3) Sprouts Salad– Sprouts Salad made with varieties of veggies incorporated with herbs & seasoning.
4) Sprouts Chilla (Pancakes)– Grind sprouts & green chilly into mixer, add suji,salt,haldi make a batter of chilla with curd.Spread it on heating tawa roast both side.
5)Sprouts Pulao– You can incorporate sprouts into any pulao or add gravy to transform sprouts into a wholesome, complete meal.
6)Sprouts Bhel– Add 3/4th portion of sprouts into bhel to make it healthy evening snack.
